Image I’ve loved almost all books Dundurn publishes, and I am honored that I have auto-approval. As such, I make a point of reading as many of their books as I can, and I’m exceptionally glad I read this one. I admit that I often pick books based on the cover, and this one didn’t catch my attention. But as soon as I started reading it had me hooked. The story is at the same time tragic and uplifting, sad and funny, horrendous and cute. There are quite a few heavy topics addressed in this book: abuse, cutting, foster homes and lots of angst. The author dealt with them with sensitivity without glossing over anything. it’s a gripping and heart breaking book.
